The ISO 55 001 standard provides an international framework for the development of an asset management system. In this course we will first describe ISO 55001 standard and then we will see the eight steps enabling the asset management system to be implemented: the evaluation of an organisation’s maturity, the strategic documents, asset register, the alignment of functions, risk analysis and analysis of the condition, management tools, maintenance and renewal plans.
This course specifically details the risk analysis and performance assessment of all types of physical assets that may be encountered in water and wastewater systems. In the first part, the types of risks and management strategies as well as the implementation of risk analysis will be described. The second part will focus on the assessment of the condition of non-linear assets. The last part will be dedicated to the assessment of the condition of linear assets.
In this course, we will focus on the financial aspect of asset management. First, we will see what tools and techniques exist to help you decide which investments to make, then we will see how to use cost-benefit analysis in order to assess the financial impact of your investments, and finally we will see how to develop and implement an investment plan.
